Artist Info

I graduated from the Swinburne National School of Design with a Bachelor of Graphic Design (Honours) in 2003. I currently work as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. My work incorporates delicately rendered pencil illustrations of girls, boys and animals with other imagery that references popular culture. The work is often idealistic, romantic and emotive. I illustrate for a variety of clients, the majority of which are in, or closely related to the fashion industry. These include fashion labels, style conscious magazines and boutique retail stores. I am also one of thirty-two artists represented by the Jacky winter Group. A boutique agency that connects a diverse range of Australia's finest contemporary illustrators with a broad international and local client base. www.jackywinter.com Besides my commercial work I continue to keep one foot grounded in the local art scene. I have launched three successful solo exhibitions at Hudsons Clothes: Days Like Television, 2005, A Mushroom Cloud of Love, 2004 and To Be A Lover in the Winter, 2003. I’ve also been involved in numerous group shows exhibiting in such galleries as West Space, Platform 2, Bus Gallery, Viewing Space and the Gallery of New South Wales. I will be exhibiting work in the upcoming Wooden Toy Quarterly / Edition 6 Launch held at Gorker Gallery in Melbourne on April 9. I also have another solo show opening this August at Lamington Drive, a gallery run in conjunction with The Jacky Winter Group. I am a founding member of And Collective, an independent publication created by young Melbourne artists as an outlet for unmediated and personal artistic expression. And Collective have released four publications to date. In the future I intend to draw more. Travel more. Get more tattoos. Drive a '67 Chevy Imapal and move down the coast with my girl and my dog.
