I have always drawn things and made things. I get anxious if it goes too long without doing so. I like to do new things creatively, to surprise myself…as a kid I would fill exercise books with hand drawn versions of surfing brand labels, skateboard graphics, cars - lots of cars - or whatever else I was interested in at the particular point in time. For a while in high school I was painting other dudes skateboard grip tapes with posca markers for cash – they saw my own customised boards and dug them. Actually I would paint or collage everything around me, shoes, clothes, bags, car interior, my bedroom etc etc...I have always had a particular passion for art and for cars – which has continued to this day, spending my time - which is not enough - between my art practice, wife, baby girl and 2 Holden Torana’s. I like broad horizons, in having openness to all possibilities, to challenge my senses and taste, to surprise myself…. Paul White is a visual artist currently living in Melbourne Australia. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Western Sydney in Sydney Australia and his postgraduate degree at California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles California. His artistic practice is multi disciplined, incorporating at times elements of drawing, sewing, installation, painting and found objects.
